Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behavior. Etimology of the term psyche means soul and logos means science and hence the meaning of psychology was the science of soul initially. Later it became the science of mind and at present it is the science of behavior.
The word Psychology is used for the first time by Rudolf Gockel, a German philosopher in 1590. According to American psychological association (APA) the definition of Psychology is the scientific study of the behavior of individuals and their mental process.
